Attorney James McGuinness, representing the Seattle chapter of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, who filed the NLRB complaint on behalf of Cunningham and Costa, couldnt immediately be reached for comment. Earlier this year, the NLRB found Amazon illegally retaliated against Cunningham and Costa when it fired them in April of 2020. Amazon previously said it disagreed with the NLRBs findings, claiming that it fired Costa and Cunningham for repeatedly violating internal policies. In their complaint to the NLRB last October, Costa and Cunningham alleged Amazon violated federal labor law by firing them based on discriminatory enforcement of its non-solicitation and communication policies, the latter of which prohibits employees from speaking about Amazons business without manager approval. Elon Musk Advises Jeff Bezos to Spend Energy on Reaching Orbit Than Filing Lawsuits as Space Rivalry Heats Up

It appears the long-running feud between Elon Musk and fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos has surpassed the lower Earth orbit and gone extra-terrestrial. After Bezoss Blue Origin challenged a NASA contract to Musks SpaceX for developing a lander to take astronauts to the Moon for the first time since 1972, Musk called out Bezos on social media. But now, he is taking a more frontal route, bluntly telling the Amazon founder to devote more time to reach the orbit than filing lawsuits. You cannot sue your way to the Moon, Musk said during an interview recently. Their rivalry spans more than just the coveted NASA contract. Blue Origin has also protested SpaceXs Starlink project with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). During the interview at the Code conference in Los Angeles, journalist Kara Swisher asked him how he felt about Bezos suing SpaceX over the NASA contract. Musk said, I think he should put more of his energy into getting to orbit than lawsuits. You cannot sue your way to the Moon. No matter how good your lawyers are. So why isnt Bezos doing that, Swisher asked. To which, Musk said he doesnt know. In April, the American space agency decided to award the contract to build the lunar lander dubbed the Human Landing System (HLS) to a single entity, instead of choosing two companies. In this case, it was SpaceX. Blue Origin objected to the decision but it failed. The company then sued NASA, alleging that the agency unjustly granted the contract to Musk-owned SpaceX. The chaotic circumstances surrounding his arrival at Stamford Bridge in January replacing fan favourite Frank Lampard and thrust straight into a condensed schedule made more unrelenting by COVID-19s impact created a degree of breathing space in the Premier League that helped propel them to Champions League glory. Tuchel was of course under a degree of pressure to secure a top-four spot last term, but he harnessed that rarest of things under owner Roman Abramovich a sense of freedom arising from lowered expectations to galvanise this group to an improbable European success. The dynamic is different this time. Romelu Lukakus 115 million arrival presents an expensive yet compelling answer to the obvious deficiency in this team, and with a full preseason to impart his methods, Tuchel is under pressure to deliver at home and abroad. It may sound harsh, but such is life for Chelsea managers. The clubs last visit to this magnificent stadium on the outskirts of Turin encapsulates that perfectly: Roberto di Matteo brought a team here in November 2012 as a European champion. Holmes, at 38, says Wallabies have ‘depth in all positions at the moment’

6:02 AM BST Thirty-eight-year-old prop Greg Holmes has seen a few different incarnations of the Wallabies in his time. The Queenslander made his Test debut way back in 2005, in the final year of Eddie Jones reign, and has since played under both John Connolly and Michael Cheika within the national setup. And he will now wear the jersey under Dave Rennie, after the Kiwi handed him a spot on the bench for Saturdays closing Rugby Championship Test against Argentina on the Gold Coast. Holmes selection caps a remarkable turn of events after he admitted to having a couple of beers beside Rennie at the Bledisloe Cup lunch in Perth at the end of the August. At that point, Holmes was only interested in coming down to Wallabies training to observe some scrummaging sessions to help further an early foray in coaching. But a month on, he is now set for a first Test since the 2015 Rugby World Cup. And Holmes has already seen something different about Rennies own version of the Wallabies. I think its a really settled team and theyre good across the board now, Holmes said. I remember when I first started our set-piece was an issue and we had a really sharp backline; at times our forward pack starts going okay and our backline misfires. At the moment I see our full team firing. 1 Related I think weve got a forward pack that can match it with anyone in the world at the moment and weve got some sharp backs with Quadey [Cooper] pulling the strings there; hes done an incredible job. And the depth, there seems to be depth in all the positions at the moment. And Dave and the staff are running an incredible program; everyones on the same page and everyones working towards the same thing. When you can get a team firing like that they can beat anyone, and I think this team can. Holmes is well placed to compare different Wallabies eras even though he endured a Test drought between 2008 and 2014, when he was overlooked first by Robbie Deans and then again in Ewen McKenzies short stint. But the reality is that Rennies Wallabies have so far only strung three wins together. They can, however, sign off their domestic Test season with another victory over Argentina who on Thursday lost six players for selection because of a border breach which would result in a 6-4 return on Australian soil for 2021. The chance to build on that potential record will then come in Japan, against the Brave Blossoms, before Tests against Scotland, England and Wales to round out the year. While recalling a 38-year-old prop might, on the surface, suggest the Wallabies are struggling for personnel, the reality is that Holmes inclusion has come about by injury and family commitments in the front-row. Elsewhere, the Wallabies have built depth, evidenced by this weekends selection of Pete Samu at No. 6, the Brumbies back-rower finally getting his chance after Lachie Swinton and Rob Leota had previously been preferred on the side of the scrum. And Sean McMahon is now back to offer further competition among the replacements. Theres certainly belief within the group, weve got a good understanding of our game and the effort required to implement that game, Rennie said when asked if he could see confidence growing within his squad. Were just working hard; all the things that weve been doing for the last 18 monthsx, were trying to develop our skill set and trying to develop our game awareness, and were certainly a very fit side now. And weve got genuine competition for places, I think thats helping; guys understand that they need to be at their best otherwise they could lose their spot to someone else. So I think thats been really important. So weve got belief in each other, but respects earned daily; weve got to front again on the weekend otherwise everything weve done over the last few weeks is undone. The Wallabies are likely to take away a squad of around 35 or 36, Rennie confirmed on Thursday. But Saturday nights date with the Pumas will in all likelihood be a second last Test for Holmes, capping one of the more unusual but hugely satisfying international returns in recent memory. Obviously with Allan [Allaalatoa] heading home, Pone [Faaumasili] injured, we wanted an experienced tighthead from a scrummaging perspective, so we brought him into camp in Perth and hes been with us for the last few weeks here and hes ready to go. When the team was announced, I didnt tell Holmer that he was in the mix; he was already applauding for the guy who he thought was on the bench, and he got a bit of a shock from it. With the United States preparing to reopen to travellers from the UK in early November, the Statue of Liberty is likely to be on many holidaymakers itineraries. In 2019, prior to the pandemic, more than four million people visited the soaring attraction. Here are a few interesting things you may not know about the grand lady of Liberty Island. Statue of Liberty facts 1. The statues full name is Liberty Enlightening the World. 2. It was a gift from France, given toAmericain 1886. 3. The head of the statue was displayed at the Worlds Fair inParisin 1878. 4. The robed female figure represents Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom. Visitors have to climb 354 stairs to reach the statues crown. 10. There are 25 windows in the crown. 11. Approximately 4.24 million people visited the statue in 2016. The seven spikes on the crown represent the seven oceans and the seven continents of the world, indicating the universal concept of liberty. The statues most famous cinematic appearance was in the 1968 film Planet of the Apes, where it is seen half buried in sand. 25. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, the statue was closed for security reasons, with the pedestal reopening in 2004, and the statue in 2009, but only a limited number of visitors are able to go up to the crown. 42. Alation today released its latest State of Data Culture report, which focused on how ignoring data can lead to major business missteps. The report highlights that 97% of data leaders say their companies have suffered the consequences of ignoring data, either missing out on new revenue opportunities, poorly forecasting performance, or making bad investments. The organizations that learn from data faster understand their customers, innovate, and sense markets quicker and more clearly than others, Alation cofounder and CEO Satyen Sangani said in a press release. Companies that invest in data and build a culture of data literacy do well. Those that dont fall behind. Companies need to transform how they make decisions and how they work to incorporate data into everything they do. They have to build a data culture. Produced by Wakefield Research, the new Alation report, which surveyed 300 leaders at companies with more than 2,500 employees, found that 89% of organizations that fell short of their revenue goals blame their CFO for not investing enough in data and analytics. The respondents emphasized the value that data and analytics bring to the enterprise, including process optimization, increased revenue opportunities, and the ability to evaluate risk and better prepare for uncertainty as well as increase customer retention and drive product innovation. Those surveyed in a recent McKinsey study expressed a similar sentiment, with employees at companies with the greatest overall growth in revenue and earnings citing data and analytics as a factor in the boost. Compared with others, employees from high-performing organizations were three times more likely to say that data and analytics initiatives contributed 20% or more to earnings before interest and taxes from 2016 to 2019. Mixed positive Alations previous surveys investigating corporate data strategies have been decidedly pessimistic. In April, a whitepaper from the organization found that only 13% of companies are delivering on their data strategy, with a clear majority of employees pegging data quality issues as the reason management failed to successfully implement data-reliant technologies like AI and machine learning. But despite the newest Alation reports doom and gloom, respondents across the board said that their data culture has improved in the past year either because of enhanced data tools, governance, or literacy. For example, data leaders reported more than 14% growth in the three major pillars of data culture (literacy, search and discovery, and governance), with year-over-year increases reaching 22 points (37% to 59%) in companies that have adopted data literacy and 15 points (39% to 54%) in companies that have embraced data governance. Kenneth Research expects the market for governance solutions to reach $5.13 billion by 2025, up from $879.25 million in 2016, driven by benefits including data consistency and superior data quality and accuracy. The majority of respondents (87%) with AI as a major investment area believe that industry-wide funding for AI will increase at a moderate-to-fast pace through 2022. Technology organizations are increasing investments in AI as they recognize its potential to not only assess critical data and improve business efficiency, but also to create new products and services, expand their customer base and generate new revenue. These are serious investments that will help to dispel AI hype. Challenges stand in the way, however, as the Gartner survey shows. Just over half of respondents report significant consumer adoption of their AI-enabled products and services, while 41% cited AI emerging technologies as still being in development or early adoption stages.
