Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) are forging ahead with a draft proposal to censure former President Trump, and are considering introducing the resolution on the Senate floor next week. So the scramble now is to make sure that former President Trump does not run for office again. Are there enough Republican senators who are willing to go down that road? We know that five Republican Senators will vote for impeachment and/or censure. Are there five more? In my opinion it will be close. But if ten Republican senators decide do go down this road, the Republican Party IMHO is going to lose a good part of its base and will become like the Republican party in California. A minority party for the next few generations.
